INFERTILITY TREATMENT

OVULATION INDUCTION

The ovulation induction is indicated for women with ovulation disorders. These women usually have no or irregular period. What we are trying to do is to correct the disorder by correcting cycle using specific drugs, enabling these women to ovulate. The drugs used are either taken orally or in the form of injections. Monitoring is based on ultrasound and hormone control.

INTRA-UTERINE INSEMINATION

This technique is indicated for women who have repeatedly failed to get pregnant in the process of ovulation. It is also  indicated for women with unexplained infertility, or cervical infertility factors and in various cases of male problems such as mild disorders of spermodiagram. In this case we use pharmaceutical formulations as in the previous section to create one or two follicles. The whole process is covered by ultrasound at regular intervals to monitor the growth of follicles. The difference from the previous technique is that we do not depent on sexual contact but the husband gives his sperm in the laboratory and after some process using specific techniques with a special catheter is placed in the womb.

VITRO FERTILIZATION - TECHNICS

The IVF technique is appropriate in case of failure of previous therapies to women with clogged tubes and in cases of severe male factor that serious disorders spermodiagramm. The probability of success in IVF is directly related to the woman's age. Also other factors play a major role in the success of the effort is the ability to produce eggs from the ovaries, to semen quality and duration of infertility. Other factors play a major role in the likelihood of success is the existence of a previous pregnancy and the influence of toxic agents such as alcohol and smoking.

CLASSIC IVF

The sperm and ova in the case of classic IVF are placed together in a special growing liquid to fertilise. During this process only one sperm will be able to penetrate through the egg and begin the process of fertilization. The next day, the embryologist will check the results of fertilization and thus we have the fertilization rates. Usually more than 70% of the eggs will fertilize. The group will report as soon as possible for the couple's first results of fertilization.

ASSISTED FERTILIZATION

It is the process that occurs after classic IVF or even after ICSI. This procedure is performed prior to the embryo transfer. In the laboratory we thin the shell of the embryo in order to facilitate the implantation. It is appropriate in cases where it has been determined by the embryologist that the shell of the embryo is still a hard and thick. It can be used as a technique on embryos of older women or after repeated failures in IVF attempts.

CROP BLASTOCYST

The blastocyst is the stage where the embryo reaches five to six days after ovulation. After performing classic IVF embryos are usually transferred to the intrauterine cavity two to three days after ovulation. Embryos transfered at the blastocyst stage have the advantage of better selection of better quality embryos. One great disadvantage of this technique is that very few embryos survive this period in order reach the blastocyst stage.

CRYOPRESERVATION OF TESTICULAR TISSUE AND EMBRYOS
